Auto Tour Day Four – Tuesday 22nd September

Early risers dusted themselves down and headed up Mont Ventoux in convoy to catch the sunrise, joining a few surprised cyclists who were also trying to negotiate the hairpin bends! Lanson Magnums ever present, as those brave enough toasted the breath taking landscape at 7am. Then it was back down the mountain to warm up and gather en masse for the final Tour breakfast. A shorter driving day led the fleet to Lac de Castillon Sailing Club for lunch before heading to the final Col d’Èze changing station in preparation for the arrival procession into Monte Carlo’s Casino Square, escorted by a Police motorcycle cavalcade.

Celebrations followed on the terrace of the Salle Empire at Hôtel du Paris as a traditional and very enthusiastically attended warm-up before the start of the Monaco Yacht Show. Final logistics ensured that each and every vehicle made it safely back to where their drivers were staying, whilst the drivers themselves celebrated the conclusion of the 2015 RWD Auto Tour into the early hours……
